Highway 402 Rehabilitation from Longwoods Road to Colonel Talbot Road in Middlesex County and City of London
DETAIL DESIGN AND CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT STUDY
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is undertaking the Detail Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study for the rehabilitation of Highway 402 from Longwoods Road to Colonel Talbot Road in Middlesex County and City of London. The project is being undertaken primarily to address the existing pavement condition on Highway 402 and will include pavement resurfacing, drainage improvements and enhancements to roadside safety, as required.
It is anticipated that construction will require single lane closures on Highway 402 as well as short-duration nightly full closures of Highway 402 with a local roads detour route eastbound from Longwoods Road to Wonderland Road, and westbound from Colonel Talbot Road to Longwoods Road. Adjacent interchange ramps will not be closed at the same time. Construction timing is subject to funding and approvals.
The study is being completed in accordance with the Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) as a Group C project. Group C projects are considered approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, subject to compliance with the Class EA and the application of mitigation measures where necessary.
