Please be advised Sewer Technologies, contracted by Middlesex Centre, will be flushing sanitary sewers and performing CCTV inspections throughout the towns of Ilderton, Kilworth and Komoka to remove grit and debris from the sewer mains.
The work has started in Ilderton and will continue to Kilworth and Komoka. Work is conducted between 7:30am and 7:00pm. It is expected to take 3 to 4 weeks to complete, however Sewer Technologies will be in any one area for only a short time.
This is a maintenance program to help prevent sewer blockages, odour issues and wear on mechanical components.
information for Homeowners & building owners
The work will not affect the majority of homeowners nor cause any disruption to service, although there is the possibility that small spills, noise and odours may result in some homes caused by the cleaning and flushing process.
- Sewer systems are flushed to remove material that has settled and accumulated in pipes.
- Flushing trucks release pressurized water through the sanitary sewer main to remove any build-up.
- You may notice a bubbling and/or a vacuum effect in drains and toilets during this work. To avoid the possibility of small spills, keep lower-level toilet seats closed and cover any basement floor drains.
- If you notice an odour from drains, run the water in your sinks and pour some water down floor drains.
Please note that clean water is used for the flushing process.
For more information on the cleaning and flushing process, please visit the Sewer Technologies website.
