About the Project
As part of the Municipality of Middlesex Centre's capital project improvements, the playground at Meadowcreek Park is being rebuilt.
Construction will begin in October 2023, with an estimated project completion date of May 31, 2024 (subject to weather and material availability).
Drawings and photos of the new play structures can be found at the bottom of this page.
Funding for this project is provided by the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation ($150,000).
This project will begin in October 2023. Phase 1 of the project is anticipated to last 4-5 weeks. Installation of the new play structure will take place in spring of 2024. Note this schedule may be affected by weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
PHASE 1 – Fall 2023
Remove the existing play structure and base and prepare subgrade for the installation of:
- a concrete playground curb including accessible curb cuts
- perforated drainage pipe
- a 1.8 metre wide asphalt pathway
- waste receptacle
- armour stone block seating
- final grading
The existing play structure will be sold at auction in October (Filson Auctions).
PHASE 2 – SPRING 2024
Phase 2 will see the supply and install of the new play structure followed by the installation of the playground base (engineered wood fibre). The municipality is currently seeking bids for the new play structure.
